TESTED - WORKS FINE | |
This Peltier cooling assembly gets 5-stars since MPJ now includes a connector diagram. The Peltier assembly works very well. Data from initial 5-minute run follows. With a 67 degrees Fahrenheit F ambient temperature, the thermal transfer bar cold finger temperature dropped to 23 degrees F. The cold finger was insulated with packing foam and I attached an external K-type thermocouple to it with tape. Electrical data: potential was 12.0 to 12.4VDC from a regulated power supply. Maximum current ranged from 3.08 to 3.11 amperes A. The resistance of the thermistors embedded in the cold finger was ~12k-ohms at 67F. At 23 degrees, the resistance had increased to ~47.2k-ohms. The temperature difference dT was then 44F. I kept the cooler running for a few more minutes; the cold finger temperature dropped to 20F. That value appeared to be the maximum temperature drop under these conditions. | ||

Temperature sensors are themistors not thermocouples | |
Works great. The two temperature sensors are 10K ohm thermistors not thermocouples. Resistance goes up as temperature decreases. Three minute operation at 2.9 Amps- the thermistor went from 9.3K ohms to 22.5K ohms. | ||

Great with a wiring diagram | |
Threaten to return item because of no wiring diagram tadah! They sent a wiring diagram not complete but at least this works! They did not say what the Yellow and Green wire pairs were for. it is 70° in my room and the device is sweating profusely I do not have thermometer to check temp. I wonder if I could make a water cooler I would gang them up as I need to cool a CO2 laser. It draws 2.82 amps so needs a solid power supply. The air from fan feels only slightly above ambient. I would give 5 stars if I knew what the yellow and green wires were for. | ||

Need a wiring diagram! Ill have to take it apart to see where the wires go. I assume the 2 red and black power the fan. But what are the green and yellow pairs for and with the red and black what is the white for? | ||
